The cousin of one of the suspects beaten up, his mother “devastated”

Alongside the death of Philippe, killed during an ambush, a new attack took place during the night from Friday to Saturday, in Grande-Synthe (North). The victim, aged 15, is the cousin of one of the two young suspects indicted for this murder. “We had a lot of threats,” testified the mother of this young man this Sunday on RTL.

Although the family had gone out as little as possible since the tragedy, the son would have nevertheless agreed to go out by car on Friday evening with a friend, according to the testimony. But the vehicle, which was traveling at high speed, took him into a quiet area. “Six people jumped on him,” continues the mother. The teenager was allegedly beaten and left at the scene, until a car discovered him “naked, injured, distraught” and took him in.

“Lesions all over the body”

The boy, “in a pitiful state”, managed as best he could to get back to the family home before “collapsed on the sofa”. Still on RTL, his mother describes “a large jaw fracture, lesions all over his body, traces [qui montrent] that he was dragged to the ground, blood inside his eyes…”

The mother, who describes the murder in which her nephew is allegedly involved as “inhumane”, believes that her son was in turn the victim of an “ambush” and says she is “devastated”. The Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into “intentional violence in meetings leading to incapacity for work for more than eight days”, entrusted to the violence against persons group of the local Dunkirk judicial police service.
