The crime series “The Commissioner and the Sea” ends. However, the fans do not have to say goodbye to main actor Walter Sittler.

The German-Swedish crime series “Der Kommissar und das Meer” (2007-2021) ends this Saturday (December 18, 8:15 pm, ZDF) with the exciting episode “Where we come from, where we are going”. Chief Detective Robert Anders (Walter Sittler, 69) is suspected of murder himself this time after the body of his ex-wife Line Anders (Paprika Steen, 57) is found on the Swedish island of Gotland …

The end of the series is sad, but at least the fans don’t have to say goodbye to their favorites or wait years for a sequel, as is the case with so many other formats. In the case of leading actor Walter Sittler, ZDF came up with a very special spin-off for a spin-off.

So it goes on

After it was announced in June 2020 that “The Commissioner and the Sea” would be discontinued after “Where we come from, where we are going”, the station reported the continuation of the crime series from 2022 under the title “The Commissioner and the.” Lake”. The opening film with the working title “The Commissioner and the Sea – Crazy Love” was shot in Lindau on Lake Constance as well as in Hamburg and the surrounding area until the beginning of November 2021. In addition to Walter Sittler, the Swiss Nurit Hirschfeld (born 1992) play as Chief Police Officer Annika Wagner, the Austrian Dominik Maringer (born 1978) as her colleague Martin Keller and the German-Indian actor Murali Perumal (43) as Dr. Herbert Hämmerle with.

This is what “The Commissioner and the Sea – Liebeswahn” is all about

The body of fifteen-year-old Lea Cordes (Katharina Hirschberg, born 2001) is found floating in Lake Constance. Robert Anders was the last to see the girl alive and is therefore targeted by Chief Police Officer Annika Wagner and her colleague Martin Keller. But then Dennis Felber (Tilman Pörzgen, born 1993), the victim’s ex-boyfriend, is suspected of murder.

But Anders’ search for the perpetrator, apart from the classic police investigations, ultimately leads in a completely different direction. Lea had a much older friend – Thomas Wagner (Bernhard Schir, 58), the husband of Johanna (Katharina Böhm, 57), Anders’ great childhood sweetheart and at the same time the mother of police officer Wagner …

The specific broadcast date has not yet been set. The second film in the series is expected to be shot in autumn 2022.
