The city votes for 500 new video surveillance cameras

Meeting in the municipal council this Friday, the elected officials of the city of Marseille approved a financing plan of 15 million euros in order to install 500 new video surveillance cameras, report in particular Provence And Le Figaro.

This vote definitively puts an end to a Marseille Spring moratorium on the installation of these devices established in principle during the 2020 municipal campaign. Once this new batch of cameras is deployed, the city will have a little more than 2,000, or half less than Nice, one of the cities in France best equipped in this area.
