Sign of a lull, bus and tram traffic “will be able to resume normally everywhere in France” from the evening of Wednesday July 5, announced on Twitter the Minister Delegate for Transport, Clément Beaune, Wednesday noon. “Localized exemptions may apply depending on the situation”, he said, however, on the social network.

On Tuesday, the minister had already announced that buses and trams could run until 10 p.m., compared to 9 p.m. previously.

Friday, atnear one third night of urban violence in response to the death of Nahel in Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine)the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, had asked the prefects to stop the circulation of buses and trams after 9 p.m. throughout France. Even before this announcement, Ile-de-France Mobilités (IDFM) had decided to end bus and tram services in the region at 9 p.m. every evening, “until further notice”.
