the child kidnapped in Lannion and the father found safe and sound

8-year-old Dewi, who was kidnapped on Friday morning in Lannion (Côtes-d’Armor) by his father, was found safe and sound at the same time as his kidnapper in Plouaret, in the same department, we learned from the Saint-Brieuc prosecutor’s office. “At around 3 pm, they were recovered in the town of Plouaret, safe and sound,” said Bertrand Leclerc, prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc. A kidnapping alert was broadcast on Saturday morning.

According to a police source, “the child was found safe and sound with his father in a field in Plouaret”. According to the gendarmes, the father and the child were found about fifteen kilometers south of Lannion. “We had information saying that they had been seen in this corner, we moved the helicopter, dogs and staff,” said the gendarmes, specifying that there were no “difficulties” during the arrest.

About 70 gendarmes were mobilized to find Dewi, who had been kidnapped late Friday morning at the House of the Lannion department. The father had removed the child “suddenly by surprising the vigilance of those responsible for monitoring the right of access”, before fleeing by car “with great haste”, had indicated the prosecutor of Saint-Brieuc. The alleged kidnapper, 38, from the Rennes region, has a criminal record.
