The Cheviré and Bellevue bridges blocked, exceptional traffic jams

The blocking operations of the last few days took a spectacular step this Tuesday morning in Nantes. The Cheviré bridge, the main Loire crossing in western France, is indeed blocked in both directions by opponents of the pension reform. To the east of the Nantes conurbation, the Bellevue bridge, another essential crossing of the Loire on the Nantes ring road, is also the subject of filter dams.

North of Nantes, demonstrators are also disrupting traffic on the ring road near the Porte de la Chapelle. All this has caused exceptional traffic jams since around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

As if that were not enough, traffic on tram line 3 was also cut off by demonstrators at Beauséjour, reports the Semitan. On social networks, calls for a “dead city” operation this Tuesday are relayed. The national police invite motorists to adapt their journeys and to exercise caution.

Monday evening, several hundred people had expressed their anger in downtown Nantes after the rejection of motions of censure targeting the government.
