The carer bought jewelry with the money of his protege

She lived the high life with the money of the septuagenarian she was supposed to take care of. A 29-year-old carer, already known to the police, was arrested last Thursday at her home in Toulouse. This arrest followed a complaint filed a few days earlier by a 73-year-old man.

Cash withdrawal and gold rings

The septuagenarian had just noticed the fraudulent withdrawal of 2,000 euros in cash with his bank card. The card had also been used to buy two gold rings from a jeweler. The suspicions of the septuagenarian fell on his home help, which helped him in particular to do his shopping.

The investigation, and in particular the use of video surveillance, confirmed this intuition. The suspect also admitted the facts and chose to go through a “guilty plea” procedure. She is summoned in May to the courthouse.
