Rarely has the crux of this cabaret become more obvious than during Christoph Sieber’s guest appearance at the Lustspielhaus with the new program “Weitermachen”. The man in his mid-fifties is what you call an old hand: on stage for 30 years, winner of the German Cabaret Prize and countless other awards, regularly on television, recently also as presenter of “Mitternachtsspitzen”, in short: someone from the field. And yet still a searcher for the grail of the only satire that brings happiness: How do I manage the balancing act of entertaining my listeners on the one hand, but at the same time not withholding from them the misery that prevails on their planet? A task that makes Sisyphus’s endless stone-rolling seem like the hobby of a happy person.
