The body of a man was discovered on the beach of Espiguette in Grau-du-Roi, in the Gard, a town located a few kilometers from Nîmes. It comes the day after the disappearance of a sexagenarian, during a swim. His wife had called the emergency services. But despite their efforts, they had stopped the fruitless search after nearly three hours.
The vacationing couple had gone swimming. The woman had been able to reach the beach, but not her husband. The investigation was entrusted to the gendarmerie which should confirm the death of the victim by drowning and understand the causes of this tragedy.
