Arthur and Felix don’t have much in common, but they are friends. Felix is cool, Arthur is uncool. Arthur wears grandpa clothes and freaks out when someone spits out chewing gum on the street. Felix is played by Til Schweiger. One of them has cancer. Once, when they were children, perhaps 13 years old, Felix encouraged his friend to run away shortly before the performance of a play because his father hadn’t come, even though he was supposed to play the leading role. The two set off, scrounged beers from a few Manta drivers and, as they ran through Munich, kept shouting the one sentence that Arthur should have said in the play: “This is the beginning of the end.”
