The Bamberg Weyermann malt factory: A delicious success story – Bavaria

The Weyermann family has been roasting malt since the end of the 19th century – first for coffee, then for beer. After her father’s early death, Sabine Weyermann led the company from Bamberg onto the international stage and made it the world market leader.

Normally Franziska and Sabine Weyermann have different responsibilities. One, Franziska Weyermann, 33, takes care of exports, the American business. The other, Sabine Weyermann, 65, is concerned with “the internal and external appearance” of her company, as she says, everything from trade fairs to the press. On this day, however, the two women, mother and daughter, sit next to each other on a common mission.
