Police used a Taser against a man during an operation near Kaiserslautern. The 38-year-old later dies. Two officers are now being investigated on suspicion of negligent homicide.

A possible connection between the use of the stun gun and the man’s death is now being investigated. Officials announced on Wednesday that an investigation had been initiated against two police officers on suspicion of negligent homicide.

According to the police, the man’s relatives called the emergency services on Tuesday evening because the 38-year-old was rioting and inflicting cuts on himself. The police went to the man’s apartment – when the 38-year-old attacked them there, the officers used the Taser.

The man then lost consciousness. The police resuscitated him until the emergency services arrived. The man’s body will now be examined forensically.
