Lucas L., the main suspect, was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention at the Périgueux remand center. He is prosecuted for rape, kidnapping without voluntary release before the 7e day and murder preceded, accompanied or followed by another crime. Quickly identified, in particular thanks to a friend of Justine Vayrac who saw them leave together at the end of the evening, Lucas L., the main suspect, had confessed, during his police custody, to the murder of the young woman and allowed investigators to find the body. He had however denied the rape, simply acknowledging a consensual sexual relationship.
