The AMF calls for rallies in front of prefectures on Sunday

The Association of Mayors of France (AMF) called this Thursday for rallies against anti-Semitism “in front of each department prefecture” on Sunday afternoon, at the same time as the “civic march” planned in Paris. These gatherings must “allow all French people who [le] wish [de] to join this initiative throughout France”, indicates the AMF in a press release, specifying that the approach is being carried out “in agreement with Gérard Larcher and Yaël Braun-Pivet”.

The presidents of the Senate and the National Assembly have in fact called for a “great civic march” in the face of the unprecedented explosion of anti-Semitic acts – more than 1,000 in one month – since the start of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

“It is the very unity of our Nation that is at stake and that all citizens must defend,” affirms the AMF, which therefore calls for “a rally in front of each department prefecture” on Sunday at 3 p.m. Except in Ile-de-France, where she urges “to participate massively in the march” organized at the same time in the capital.
