When it comes to the love of cinema, we Germans have some catching up to do: on average, people went to the cinema 0.93 times, the figures from the German Federal Film Board (FFA) for 2022 prove that. This is slightly more than in the previous pandemic years, but in direct comparison with France or America, the number of visitors in this country is significantly lower. But you can’t really blame the Germans for being tired of cinemas, many just don’t feel addressed by the blockbuster monotony in the big cinemas.
