The 40th executioner’s hatchet competition in Passau – Bavaria

For the 40th time, under the eyes of the first winner Hape Kerkeling, the Passau Executioner’s Hatchets will go to the best young cabaret talent.

“A strong hatchet,” was how Walter Landshuter summed up the 40th edition of the sheep judge’s hatchet competition in the Passau executioner’s house. Who could have judged this better than him, who founded the cabaret together with Edgar Liegl at the end of the 1970s and has been present at all jury meetings since then. At the beginning, Landshuter reported on the beginning when, despite reservations, an “18-year-old boy” was invited, who then turned out to be outstanding and became the first winner: Hape Kerkeling. He even came to the anniversary, sat on the jury and hovered over the event as a benevolent, even grateful spirit.
