Camille Delcroix, former winner of Top Chef 2018, wins a first Michelin star for her restaurant “Bacôve” in Saint-Omer
MICHELIN GUIDE – There are 52 chefs to win their first star in the Michelin Guide this year. And one of them is far from unknown to M6 viewers. Indeed, a former candidate of Top chef discovered in the culinary competition obtained this prestigious distinction this Monday March 18: it is Camille Delcroix.
Remember, in April 2018 in front of several million viewers, the young Camille Delcroix, 27 years old at the time, won season 9 of Top chef after a faultless run in Philippe Etchebest’s brigade. During the tests and episodes, he had particularly impressed the chefs Marc Veyrat, Yannick Alléno, Joël Robuchon and Jean-François Piège. Before logically winning in the final against Victor Mercier.
Six years later, Camille Delcroix is the only “ Top chef » to obtain a Michelin star this year. Located in Saint-Omer with its restaurant “ Bacôve » – named after the large flat-bottomed boats used by the market gardeners of the Audomarois marshes to transport their vegetables -, the chef there “ signs menus of great technical precision, inspired by local regional products and a common thread combining land and sea », notes the famous guide, particularly seduced by a dish of “ grilled red mullet on binchotan barbecue, variation of cauliflower and Noilly sauce “.

The emblematic Jean Imbert (season 3), Mory Sacko (season 11), Matthias Marc (season 12), Guillaume Sanchez (season 8) and Naoëlle d’Hainaut (winner of season 4) also display a distinction from the red guide for several years. In total, today they are nearly thirty, revealed by the M6 culinary competition over the last fifteen years, to wear one or more macaroons.
