The 2022 edition will be entitled to its “Drive to Survive” cycling version with Netflix

You have loved Drive to Survive ? You might love Bike to Survive. In fact, the name is not yet known, but the Tour de France 2022 will be entitled to its documentary series, as indicated by the organization of the largest cycling race in the world, this Thursday in a press release. It will be produced by Quadbox, a company that brings together QUAD and Box to box Films, to whom we owe the famous doc on Formula 1.

Netflix has teamed up with ASO, the organizer of the Grande Boucle, with the participation of France Télévisions, its historic broadcaster, for a total of eight 45-minute episodes. Eight teams are involved: AG2R Citroën Team, Alpecin-Fenix, BORA-Hansgrohe, EF Education-EasyPost, Groupama-FDJ, Ineos Grenadiers, Team Jumbo-Visma and Team Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl (where Julian Alaphilippe plays).

The Pogacar team not concerned

It should be noted that UAE Team Emirates, in which evolves Tadej Pogacar, double winner of the Tour de France, is not mentioned. Filming began in March and should last until the end of the 2022 edition (July 1 to 24) for release on Netflix in the first half of 2023. France Télévisions will broadcast a 52-minute documentary a few days before the start of the Tour de France 2023.

“This project is more than ever part of our global strategy which aims to make our sport even more accessible and allow it to reach an even wider audience”, launches Yann Le Moënner, the general manager of ASO. At the house of 20 minuteswe hope for an episode entirely dedicated to our national Thibaut Pinot.
