The 17-year-old teenager arrested Thursday as part of investigations into the sending of threats to educational establishments via ENT (Digital Work Spaces), was indicted on Saturday in Paris and placed in pre-trial detention, indicated a judicial source.

The young man had been arrested two days earlier in Malakoff (Hauts-de-Seine) by the Anti-Cybercrime Office (Ofac) and placed in police custody. “Schooled”he “did not have a criminal record of the same nature”indicated Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau, specifying that her prosecution centralized “now the attacks of the same nature in recent days are to the detriment of all ENTs” throughout France.

Hundreds of establishments targeted

Since March 20, more than a hundred educational establishments have been the target of highly disturbing messages. The first to have been broadcast on ENT high schools in Île-de-France threatened to “blow up the entire establishment around 11/3 p.m.” and of “decapitate all your bodies of kuffars to serve Allah the almighty who reigns over the world. And to add: “I hope your kuffar bodies explode (sic) into 1000 pieces, I will bring my dogs to come and tear you up, you bunch of unbelievers (sic).” Some of these missives, distributed to students’ ENT mailboxes, also contained beheading videos.

The first round of threats initially targeting establishments in Île-de-France then extended to schools throughout the national territory. As such, three investigations were opened by the anti-cybercrime section of the Paris public prosecutor’s office to “attacks on an automated data processing system implemented by the State”, “threats of death or damage to property dangerous to people against a public service mission manager” And “apology of terrorism by means of an online public communication service”.
