Five monks got lost in Mae Wong National Park in Thailand. As the situation became increasingly hopeless, two of them sought help. Now everyone has been saved.

According to a media report, five monks have been rescued after getting lost in a forest in northern Thailand two weeks earlier. As the newspaper “Bangkok Post” reports, the Buddhist clerics were on a pilgrimage in Mae Wong National Park 350 kilometers north of the capital Bangkok in February when they realized that they had lost their way.

Since then, they have only fed on wild bananas and plants. As the situation became increasingly hopeless, they decided that two of them should leave the group and seek help.

Thai monks went 15 days without food

According to the report, the two men started hiking and eventually met park employees. On Wednesday, the other three monks were found by emergency services and brought to safety. They were therefore more than 30 kilometers from the nearest community.

The monks are said to be doing well, but they were exhausted because they had hardly eaten anything for 15 days.
