As reported by several media in the United States, a gunman is holding at least four people in a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas. The rabbi of the community of Beth Israel is said to be among the hostages. According to the police, the area has been evacuated and is on duty with a special unit. The FBI is also involved. Federal police negotiators are said to be in contact with the hostage-taker.
The police initially did not provide more specific information. However, CNN, citing officials, reported that no injuries have been reported so far. There is also no danger to the general public.
According to the US news channel ABC the kidnapper claimed he was Muhammad Siddiqui, the brother of Aafia Siddiqui. The Pakistani was sentenced to 86 years in prison in 2010 after allegedly shooting at soldiers.
