Country music has not been Beyoncé’s preferred genre. But here too, the R&B icon is absolutely top notch.

Pop icon Beyoncé has it with her new song “Texas Hold ‘Em” reached the top of the Billboard charts in the country song category – and made music history. As Rolling Stone magazine and the British newspaper “The Guardian” reported, she is the first black woman to have a country song in first place.

According to Billboard, the singer is the first musician to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts. Her second new song in the country genre, “16 Carriages,” is number nine on the country list, said the music magazine that publishes the charts. Meanwhile, the songs debuted at numbers two and number 38 on Billboard’s general Hot 100 chart.

The Texas-born Grammy winner released the two country songs on February 11th. “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages” are on Beyoncé’s new album, which she announces on her website as “Act II” for March 29th. Her last album “Renaissance” was released in 2022.
