Tethering in Bavaria: The daily suffering of cows – Bavaria

They are shocking images that don’t fit the picture book clichés about agriculture in Bavaria at all: young cattle, dairy cows and fattening cattle that are so fixed in boxes that they can only stand or crouch down, but cannot turn around Licking your back or running around the stable. Who have chafed, hairless patches on their necks from the chains, leather straps and other devices with which they are bound. Their buttocks and bellies are smeared with excrement because the boxes are so short and so narrow that they inevitably lie in their own feces and urine when they crouch down. And they have no bedding at all or far too little and sometimes even stand on the bare concrete floor.
