Tennis pro Nick Kyrgios could pay dearly for one of his infamous taunts. The spectator, about whom the Australian had heavily blasphemed during and after the lost Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic (“700 drinks”), filed a lawsuit for defamation.

Tennis pro Nick Kyrgios could pay dearly for one of his infamous taunts. The spectator, about whom the Australian had heavily blasphemed during and after the lost Wimbledon final against Novak Djokovic (“700 drinks”), filed a lawsuit for defamation.

In the statement released by her lawyers, Anna Palus wrote of a “reckless and completely unfounded allegation against me”.

This not only led to her being expelled from the stadium at times, the plaintiff wrote: “Mr. Kyrgios’ false allegations were seen or read by millions of people around the world, which caused me and my family considerable damage.” She wants to donate the possible compensation to charity.

Kyrgios felt disturbed by the spectator during his defeat in the final and called her drunk. “I’ve been out a few nights in my life and I knew she had too much. I said to the referee: ‘She talks to me a lot and she’s drunk. What are you going to do about it?’
