In Madrid, the tennis professionals are preparing for the French Open. Laura Siegemund loses at the start of the main field. Daniel Altmaier moves into the second round and can now take revenge.

Tennis player Laura Siegemund is at the Masters 1000 tournament Madrid were eliminated in the first round.

When determining the position for the French Open, the Metzinger (36) was clearly defeated by the Croatian Donna Vekic 1:6, 2:6 and thus suffered the next opening defeat. Siegemund made it into the main field after two successful qualifying rounds.

In the men’s category, Daniel Altmaier lived up to his role as favorite in the duel with the Spanish talent Martin Landaluce. However, at 6:1, 7:5, the Kempener (25) had problems in the second set and missed the chance to win the match against the wildcard holder earlier at 5:3. In the second round, Altmaier gets the chance for revenge against the Frenchman Arthur Fils, against whom he lost the previous week in Barcelona.
