World number three Jessica Pegula failed in the third round of the French Open.
World number three Jessica Pegula failed in the third round of the French Open.
The 29-year-old American lost 6-1, 6-3 to Belgian Elise Mertens in 82 minutes at the classic clay court in Paris on Friday.
Pegula is still waiting for the semi-finals
Pegula is the fourth player out of the top ten on the seeding list. She is still waiting for a semi-final in one of the four Grand Slam tournaments.
