Tennis professional Dominik Koepfer simply can’t cope on clay this year. The Black Forester also failed in the first round in Munich.
The German Davis Cup player Dominik Koepfer was eliminated in the first round of the ATP tournament in Munich.
The number seven seeded tennis professional from Furtwangen lost against the Chilean Cristian Garin 6:7 (3:7), 3:6. The 29-year-old from the Black Forest suffered his third first-round defeat in his third clay court tournament this year. After 1:37 hours, Garin, who won the BMW Open in… Munich won in 2019, its fourth match point.
Rudi Molleker (Oranienburg) had already won his first round match as a wildcard on Monday at the event, which was endowed with 651,865 euros. The four top-seeded starters around favorite and Olympic champion Alexander Zverev and his Davis Cup colleague Jan-Lennard Struff will enter the tournament in the round of 16 after byes in the first round on Wednesday or Thursday.
