Ten men were arrested after the violence that left 26 injured on Saturday during a Mexican Championship match at the Queretaro stadium in the center of the country. Identified thanks to media images and social networks, they are suspected of “attempted homicide, violence in a sports arena and apology for crime”.
In the 63rd minute of the match between the “Gallos Blancos” of Queretaro and the “Zorros” of Atlas, the fans of the two teams clashed in the stands. The lawn was invaded by people fleeing the violence. The match was interrupted.
On Monday, 19 of the 26 injured had left the hospital. On Tuesday, all the owners of the teams of the Mexican first division (Liga MX) will meet to examine the progress of the investigation carried out by the Disciplinary Commission of the Mexican Football Federation.
