“The Masked Singer”: Tagesschau chief spokesman Riewa as Chili

Who is in the chili costume? The riddle of the “Masked Singer” has been solved: Jens Riewa is taking part in the ProSieben show as the second representative of the “Tagesschau” college after Judith Rakers.
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, this is Chili speaking: «Tagesschau» head spokesman Jens Riewa was the first celebrity to be exposed on the music show «The Masked Singer».
The 58-year-old was in the costume of a huge chili pepper. But since he received too few votes from the audience on Saturday evening in Cologne, he had to take off the fiery mask. As Riewa admitted, the costumes didn’t really suit him that well in his private life. “I’m famous in my private life for the fact that I can’t tolerate spicy food,” he said. “For one simple reason: I get hiccups for hours.”
In “The Masked Singer” celebrities appear as singers, but hide their identities behind elaborate costumes. Only their voices can reveal who is hiding behind them. The stars are exposed as soon as they don’t get enough votes or win at the very end. On Saturday, Riewa lost out to a skunk, a hammerhead shark and a teddy bear, all of which are now still in the running. It was the beginning of the fifth season of the popular ProSieben show.
The «Tagesschau» college has definitely had experience with the format. Last season spokeswoman Judith Rakers took part. Back then she was wearing a fluffy chick costume.
