Caren Miosga presented her new ARD political talk. At the start she welcomed a top politician.

Caren Miosga presented the first edition of her new ARD political talk show. The TV journalist and former “Tagesthemen” presenter, who succeeded Anne Will, welcomed her first guest on Sunday evening: the CDU chairman Friedrich Merz. In the first half of the one-hour program “Caren Miosga”, the 54-year-old also spoke to the Union politician about the question of how conservative Germany’s future will be.

In the second half of the live broadcast, other interviewees sat down at the round table in the newly designed studio in Berlin-Adlershof, which is decorated in blue, gray and wood tones: the journalist from the weekly newspaper “Die Zeit”, Anne Hähnig , and sociology professor Armin Nassehi. It was also about the question of how the CDU differentiates itself from the AfD.

Miosga’s new talk will be broadcast on Sunday evenings at 9.45 p.m. on Erste – like the earlier talk by predecessor Anne Will – directly after the crime series and the ratings guarantee “Tatort”.
