The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim is an internationally renowned research institute. It conducts basic research primarily in the areas of the cardiovascular system and the lungs. The institute comprises four departments, several independent research groups and central scientific service groups. A total of around 380 people currently work at the institute.

We are looking for one as soon as possible, limited to December 31, 2025 Technical assistance (f/m/d), BTA/CTA/MTLA/VTA, Code number 2024_02, part-time (50%).

Your tasks

  • Assistance and independent implementation of cell culture experiments
  • Isolation and cultivation of different cell types
  • Hypoxic incubation of cells, measurement of apoptosis, proliferation and migration of isolated cells
  • DNA and RNA isolation, PCR, Western blot
  • Carrying out genotyping and evaluating the data obtained
  • Assisting and carrying out pharmacological examinations, preparing solutions and pharmaceuticals
  • Independent implementation of molecular biological examinations, including data collection and evaluation
  • Assistance in compiling and evaluating research data and corresponding graphical preparation

Our requirements

  • Successfully completed training as a BTA, CTA, MTLA, VTA or biology laboratory technician with experience in the field of molecular genetics, cell biology and chemistry
  • Sound knowledge of sterile work and experience in animal experiments
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Strong teamwork skills in interdisciplinary and international working groups (lab language: English)
  • Resilience, flexibility and willingness to cooperate

Remuneration is based on qualifications and activity in accordance with the public service collective agreement (TVöD). In addition, the usual public service benefits are provided.

If the collective bargaining requirements are met, you will be placed in pay group 9 TVöD.
