The federal, state and local governments can expect slightly higher tax revenue in the coming years than was expected in the spring. This is the conclusion reached by the tax estimation working group, which presented its new forecasts for the period up to the end of 2027 on Thursday. Accordingly, the state has to make do with a total of 4.5 billion euros less this year. In the years 2024 to 2027, however, revenues are likely to be around 28 billion euros higher than predicted in the last estimate in May. In 2025, the public sector will probably break the trillion mark for the first time with total tax revenue of 1.009 trillion euros.
