Taufkirchen – organic food for the school in the forest – district of Munich

In the new elementary school at the forest in Taufkirchen and in the neighboring secondary school, the children are to be served lunch in organic quality and with food that is produced as regionally as possible from the next school year. The municipal council has spoken out in favor of this and has now decided on the tender for the full kitchen in the new building. At the same time, the committee decided not to invest in other kitchens in the surrounding municipal buildings. This should make it easier for the operator of the full kitchen in the elementary school to also deliver his food to other customers. After all, a kitchen like this can hardly be run profitably just with the lunches for the schoolchildren, explained treasurer Jan Gradl. “It will then be difficult to find someone to go in there.”

At the request of the Greens, the municipal council unanimously decided that the lunch for the primary and secondary schools should be produced in organic quality. This does not necessarily have to be more expensive for the parents, emphasized parliamentary group leader David Grothe. “It’s also cheap if, for example, you adjust the meat quota and don’t serve a roast every day.” The operator of the full kitchen in the elementary school is also supposed to supply the middle school – even after it has moved into the planned new building. After all, this is not a full kitchen, but only a distribution kitchen as the serving point.
