“Tatort” from Göttingen: A bit much for a crime thriller – media

Detective Liebig (Luc Feit) throws a party at the headquarters. With champagne pyramid, gold tinsel and tight dance. Amazing for the dull bone. Well, he’s turning 60. Inspector Lindholm (Maria Furtwängler), another mood-cannon, is teasing at the bar table with a woman who introduces herself as Tereza (Bibiana Beglau). Liebig toasts his wife, Lindholm whispers sisterly to the side: “He’s actually married. Poor thing!” It’s just stupid that Tereza is Liebig’s wife and Lindholm is standing next to her.

Anyway, chance reigns in “Gisterfahrt” from Göttingen. The core of the story is that a parcel delivery driver crashes into a crowd and a woman dies. By chance, the man had previously delivered the gift for Liebig to the headquarters, and then Lindholm saw him again, seriously injured, at the ambulance. Liebig’s wife treats him as a doctor in the intensive care unit. The nurse there is married to the driver’s boss. And she gives her husband an envelope, which he in turn uses to blackmail Liebig.

Lindholm continues to investigate alone; teamwork has never been her thing

That’s a lot of coincidences, and the story in this crime novel by Stefan Dähnert (book) and Christine Hartmann (writer and director) is as confusing as the constellation of characters. For a long time it’s about the cruelty of the logistics industry, and the crime thriller, like the one in Cologne, does it crime scene “The other person’s burden” in December to shake the comfort of the living room. The Romanian driver had been on his feet for 36 hours, as a sub-sub-contractor, the logistics company doesn’t get its hands dirty. Because DDP is a large employer, Charlotte Lindholm and Anaïs Schmitz (Florence Kasumba) are advised to stay out of the company and only look in the driver’s environment. Shooting spree, terrorist attack, something like that. Lindholm is the only one who doesn’t believe it and continues to investigate alone; teamwork has never been her thing.

Suddenly there is a second storyline and it is about domestic violence. Now two construction sites in society have to share the film – and cannibalize each other. In addition, it must be arranged that the Göttingen duo is separated. After six cases, Lindholm is allowed back to the LKA in Hanover, Schmitz is promoted in her department, which is a consolation prize: from now on there is no one crime scene from Göttingen more. It’s a shame that the super-cool Florence Kasumba is no longer investigating on a permanent basis.

NDR announced the last episode as a “grand finale”. It’s a solid crime thriller, yes, but also one that wants too much. Curiously, it is Charlotte Lindholm’s solo efforts that at least bring a little calm to the film.

The first, Sunday, 8:15 p.m.
