The actor Vladimir Burlakov came to Germany from Russia as a child. Now he helps refugees who have lost everything.

Moscow-born actor Vladimir Burlakov (35) is appalled by the Russian government’s disinformation about the Ukraine war.

“It’s amazing how this propaganda machine works. Even intelligent people, friends of my family, believe in alleged Western propaganda,” Burlakov told the German Press Agency in Berlin on Monday evening. “When my mother shows them pictures of the war, they say: ‘It’s all fake and not real’. This brainwashing is really scary.”

The actor, who plays Chief Inspector Leo Holz in the Saarland “Tatort”, moved to Germany with his family as a child. He and a friend are currently collecting donations for food and other products on Instagram to distribute among refugees. «You see the suffering of the people who arrive at the main station all the time. That takes me very, very much and touches me, »said the 35-year-old.
