Tales of the Walking Dead spin-off series has its first five cast members. The cast includes well-known series stars.
Tales of the Walking Dead continues to take shape. As “Variety” reports, in the “Walking Dead” offshoot Terry Crews (53, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Poppy Liu (30, “Hacks”), Parker Posey (53, “Lost in Space”), Anthony Edwards (59, “Inventing Anna”) and Jillian Bell (37, “Rough Night”) play. “We’ve worked hard to create unique, interesting and unexpected characters for ‘TWD’ fans old and new, and I’m thrilled these are the actors who will bring them to life,” said showrunner Channing Powell.
Details on the new series
AMC announced in a statement last October that the new The Walking Dead spin-off series will be released in summer 2022. Tales of the Walking Dead is an “episodic anthology” that explores the backstories of existing or new characters. The plot of the hour-long episodes stands for itself. It is not yet known which characters will be the focus of attention.
Channing Powell, writer and producer of “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” will serve as showrunner. Production on the first six-episode season is slated to begin summer 2022 on AMC and AMC+. AMC’s Dan McDermott said in a statement that the anthology series will reward loyal fans while also providing new viewers with an opportunity to delve into the story.
