Tagesschau further differentiates the color scale on the map of the 7-day corona incidence

There is probably no news topic that has preoccupied us more intensively than the corona pandemic. Unfortunately, it does not currently look like this will change anytime soon, because the number of infections in Germany is rising again. In this context we have the Map of the 7-day incidence values of new infections adjusted per 100,000 inhabitants. In the meantime there are a number of rural districts with incidence values well above 400, in some cases even over 600. If one considers not only the total population but also the various age groups, much higher incidence values can often be observed. In order to present the current infection situation in Germany in a more differentiated way, ARD-aktuell is therefore expanding the visualization of the 7-day incidence values. On the one hand, the class with the highest values is divided in the daily updated map of the districts and cities: The previous class> 400 retains its color value, but now only includes the values from 400 to 600. Incidence values above the mark of 600 are now assigned a new, highlighted in an additional shade. On the other hand, the interactive map offers tagesschau.de Now it is also possible to show the regional characteristics of the 7-day incidence values broken down by age group. This gives all users the opportunity to identify the various infection levels, for example among schoolchildren or in other population groups, with just a few clicks. This also supports the opinion-forming process with a view to political decisions on easing and tightening protective measures.
