SZ podcast “On the Point” – the Pegasus Project – Politics

Powerful surveillance software should help prevent terrorism and crime. But for many countries the software is a weapon against completely different enemies: The technology is apparently used to monitor people who criticize their government. This is shown by the Pegasus project, an international research on the NSO Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of surveillance software.

The research gives an unprecedented insight into the work of the surveillance industry and its customers. How reporters around the world researched the surveillance software is explained in this special episode of To the point Bastian Obermayer, the head of the investigative research department.
