“Suspicious death” of a college principal in Lisieux: two people arrested

Stéphane Vitel, principal of the Pierre-Simon de Laplace college, died mysteriously on August 11 in his establishment before leaving for a family vacation.

A week after the mysterious death of Stéphane Vitel, headmaster of the college in Lisieux, two people were arrested, the Lisieux prosecution announced to the Figaro, Wednesday August 16. The prosecution has relinquished the investigation for the benefit of the Caen prosecution.

The public prosecutor of Caen and the territorial director of the judicial police of Rouen are organizing a press conference this evening at 6:30 p.m. at the judicial court of Caen, 11 rue Dumont d’Urville in Caen.

Intruder alarm

Friday, August 11, Stéphane Vitel was preparing to go on vacation with his wife and their two children when he was informed of the triggering of an anti-intrusion alarm in the establishment he runs, the Pierre-Simon college in The place.

He had made a detour to go to college where he entered alone, leaving his family in the car. Worried not to see him coming, she tried to reach him on his cell phone, then his daughter entered the establishment and found him lifeless.

The emergency services intervened quickly but could not resuscitate the 40-year-old, who was in cardiac arrest when they arrived.
