A territorial agent specialized in nursery schools (Atsem) has just been suspended as a precaution from his duties by the city of Rennes, we learned from the prosecution, confirming information from Telegram. Aged about forty, the individual is suspected of having sexually assaulted a 3-year-old child in the kindergarten where he was stationed. An investigation, entrusted to the departmental security, was opened following reports from the town hall of Rennes and the National Education.
In this context, the little boy was heard by the police on Friday. “As it is a very young child whose word is by definition difficult to collect, all the usual caution is in order”, underlines Philippe Astruc, public prosecutor of Rennes, adding that “the principle of the presumption of innocence deserves to be recalled pending the results of the ongoing investigation”.
