Almost every second dissatisfied with the climate policy of the traffic light

According to a survey, almost half of Germans are calling for more climate protection. The dissatisfaction of the voters of the Greens is particularly great.
Almost every second German thinks that the federal government is doing too little to protect the climate. In a survey by the opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of the German Press Agency, 48 percent took this view. On the other hand, 35 percent said the government was doing enough to combat global warming. The rest gave no information.
Dissatisfaction with the traffic light government’s climate policy is particularly high among Green voters at 78 percent. Among the FDP voters, on the other hand, the proportion of those who are dissatisfied is not even half as large at 37 percent. 47 percent of the FDP supporters are satisfied with the climate measures of the traffic light. According to a survey, 47 percent of SPD voters believe that the government is not doing enough to protect the climate. Only 36 percent are satisfied.
The SPD, Greens and FDP had passed several resolutions on climate protection and transport policy in the coalition committee last week. Among other things, the rules of the climate protection law were relaxed, which caused displeasure among the Greens. The FDP, on the other hand, sees this as a success.
It was also decided to invest billions in the railway network and the expansion of motorways in 144 places. In the YouGov poll, 43 percent said both are equally important to them. Investments in rail routes are more important for 26 percent, for 16 percent the expansion of the motorways has priority.
