Things are not going well for Patrik Schick in the currently paused season. If he had impressive statistics and figures last year, such as his 24 goals in 27 appearances, he has been chasing this form in recent months.
Another reason for this: the striker is plagued by groin problems – and has been for a long time. For example, he was no longer able to play the last games before the World Cup break. So there is no need for another setback. The relief for everyone involved should be correspondingly great. Of course, this positive news doesn’t mean that the symptoms have suddenly disappeared. On the contrary: It is still unclear when the 26-year-old will be able to play in team training again without any problems.
This step would be extremely important on the way back to the pitch. Although this path is not lengthened by the intervention, it is not shortened either.
