Student raped twice in the street, suspect found six years later

The particularly sordid case dates back to October 30, 2016. That evening, in Nantes, a 20-year-old young woman was raped twice as she returned home after a festive evening. The victim had first crossed paths with a man who had raped him, in the city center. But a second attacker, who had initially offered to help her, had in turn sexually assaulted her.

In 2019, the first individual was sentenced to nine years in prison by the Loire-Atlantique Assize Court. The other was still at large until the last few days: more than six years after the events, his genetic fingerprint was recovered in the context of another procedure, reports the newspaper Ocean Press. On Wednesday, this man was indicted for rape and remanded in custody.
