The photo shows the Hollywood star with a woman who looks amazingly like her. The woman with the curly hair is said to be Robert’s daughter.
The claim in combination with the photo is apparently intended to entice users to click on certain articles.
But the picture is fake.
Julia Roberts and the younger woman look confusingly alike because the supposed double is also the actress.
The image is originally a photomontage from the American website PEOPLE.com.
The picture of the younger Roberts comes from the picture agency Getty and shows her in 1989 at a film premiere in New York.
The second photo is taken at the 2013 seventeenth annual Hollywood Film Awards.
According to PEOPLE, the picture of the double actress should make it clear that “true beauty never ages”.

The case shows how easily manipulated images in combination with false reports on the Internet can be used to generate clicks. In this case, however, behind the sensational image is just a photomontage taken out of context.
