It wasn’t until December that Ian Gelder received a cancer diagnosis. Now the actor has died. His husband says goodbye with touching words on Instagram.
The British actor Ian Gelder is dead. This was confirmed by his management on Tuesday evening at the request of the German Press Agency in London. Accordingly, Gelder died on Monday at the age of 74. Gelder was best known for his role as Kevan Lannister in the fantasy series Game of Thrones. “He was an admirable person, a great actor and will be sorely missed by his colleagues and all who loved him,” his management said in a statement.
Gelder’s partner, the actor Ben Daniels, wrote down Instagram: “With great, great sadness and a heavy heart broken into a million pieces, I leave this news of the death of my beloved husband and life partner.” Gelder died as a result of cancer. He only received the diagnosis last December, Daniels wrote, adding: “None of us had any idea how quickly it would happen.”
