Strasbourg vaccinodrome will reopen earlier than expected

A little more two months of closure and it is off again. The Strasbourg vaccinodrome, installed at the hotel of the European community of Alsace (CEA) will reopen its doors on Monday, December 20. Or two weeks before January 3, the date initially set.

It is “the context of a significant viral circulation in the department” which justified this advanced schedule, according to the prefecture of Bas-Rhin. The incidence rate has been rising sharply in recent weeks. Currently, 670 people per 100,000 inhabitants are positive for Covid-19 in the department, against a national average of 501 on December 9.

“As of December 11, in the Bas-Rhin, 63% of those over 65 have already had their vaccination booster, but 50-64 year-olds are only 30% to have done so while they are 70% more than five months from their last injection, ”wrote the prefecture in a press release.

The vaccinodrome located in Place du Quartier-Blanc, next to Petite France, could accommodate up to 2,000 people per day until it closed on October 4. This time, four vaccination lines will be open, including one without an appointment, accessible from 8:15 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. for adults over 30 years old. It will be open from Monday 20 to Thursday 23, then from Monday 27 to Thursday 30 December, before operating on weekdays in January.

The regional health agency of Grand-Est asks people “who already have an appointment scheduled in the same period in another center to respect it, not to position themselves on a niche with or without an appointment at the vaccinodrome . “
