The fourth season finale of Stranger Things is fast approaching. Now Netflix has released a new trailer.

Netflix has a trailer released for the season finale of “Stranger Things”. The streaming service is showing the final two episodes of season four of the mystery series starting July 1 – and the new clip suggests fans are in for an epic showdon.

The trailer, which lasts around two minutes and is (of course) accompanied by Kate Bush’s (63) “Running up that Hill”, gives little hope that the final fight against villain Vecna will end well. “I know you’re scared. You’re terrified of what you saw. But I won’t lie to you. Your friends are not prepared for this fight. Hawkins will fall,” can be heard from the off . At the end it says: “Your friends have lost.”

In addition to the Elfie (Millie Bobby Brown, 18) referred to by this, also known as Eleven, many of her friends can be seen in the clip. “We just couldn’t do it this time,” Robin (Maya Hawke, 23) explains to Steve (Joe Keery, 30). “He’s not going to stop. Not until he’s taken everyone,” Will (Noah Schnapp, 17) warns Mike (Finn Wolfhard, 19).

Season four with records

On May 27, the streaming service released the first seven episodes of the fourth season. The final two episodes will be released on July 1st and, according to Netflix, will have a total length of around four hours.

There is almost no way around the series on the platform. Between May 30 and June 5, seasons one through four also occupied the top four spots among the most-streamed English-language series. The new season started with a record: the dark adventure between mystery and horror was streamed 287 million hours in just three days. Kate Bush’s 1985 song “Running up that Hill” has been featured in the hit Netflix series since May – after which the song stormed the international charts.
