Dax recovery fails due to headwind from the USA

Negative impulses from the United States caused the Dax’s attempt to recover on Tuesday to fail.

Negative impulses from the United States caused the Dax’s attempt to recover on Tuesday to fail.

The leading German index turned negative in the wake of the weak US stock exchanges and closed 1.20 percent lower at 13,756.40 points – it was also the third day of losses in a row. In the end, the MDax of medium-sized stock exchange companies fell by 1.70 percent to 29,726.89 points.

Concerns about a slowdown in global growth momentum weighed on the mood in New York. Even current, rather good domestic economic data could not change that. Also in view of the forthcoming quarterly reports from large tech companies, caution prevailed among investors, which was reflected above all in the recent slide in the price of the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100, which was almost three percent.

After today’s US stock market close, the figures from Microsoft and Google’s mother Alphabet are on the agenda. In the further course of the week, the Facebook mother Meta, Apple and Amazon, among others, will present figures.
