Stink balls and confetti, a borough council disrupted by protesters

No, it was not a Carnival party but an action by several demonstrators against the pension reform. Wednesday evening, during the council of the 6th arrondissement of Lyon, around thirty masked people entered the wedding hall, armed with confetti and fog horns, to disrupt the meeting.

After throwing the confetti in the direction of the elected officials, the demonstrators began to chant “Brugnera, your reform will not pass. We will not give up, we are here”, in the direction of the deputy Renaissance. But the person concerned was not present. The demonstrators then directly challenged the LR mayor of the 6th arrondissement Pascal Blache, reports BFM TV Lyon.

The police quickly intervened on the spot. But before leaving, the individuals threw stink bombs around the room.

The mayor (EELV) of Lyon, Grégory Doucet supported Pascal Blache in a tweet. “We cannot tolerate disruption from a borough council,” he wrote.
