Lower Saxony’s head of government Stephan Weil, 63, is feeling the pressure from all sides: energy prices are rising rapidly, as are the corona numbers. And in Ukraine there is a war. Elections will be held in his state on October 9th. It is the last of four state elections this year. The SPD politician has led the government in Hanover since 2013.
